BenchLab is a project from the Laboratory for Advanced System Software at UMass Amherst
Prerequisities
- All the BenchLab software is written in Java and should work with any version of Java 6 or Java 7
- The Web Application requires Apache Tomcat version 6 or 7
- Requires Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer browser to run the experiments
The following components are required to run the software locally
- A BenchLab Web Application or Dashboard
- A BenchLab Client Runtime
- An application to test. We provide a media server MediaDrop for researchers to perform experiments

The BenchLab Client Runtime (BCR) is the client side of the Benchlab framework. The BCR controls a real Web browser to load a Web application (eg. a Media Drop)

Traces to test MediaDrop can be found by clicking the link below. The MediaDrop VMDK and EC2 images have these preloaded with them, hence these need not be downloaded if you are using a VM.

We provide a number of applications pre-packaged in virtual appliances that you can download from SourceForge. You can download these images to test the experiments locally with minimal configuration
